COMPREHENSIVE ABORTION CARE (CAC)
Ipas introduced Comprehensive abortion Care (CAC) in the year 2000.
CAC is an initiative to improve and provide safe, high quality service, including abortion, post abortion care and family planning.
At present, there are 112 public health facilities and 19 private facilities providing MTP/CAC services in Manipur.
Permanent medical boards have also been constituted at RIMS, JNIMS and 7 district hospitals for allowing or denying abortion beyond 24 weeks of pregnancy under Section 3 (2C) of the Medical Termination of Pregnancy (Amendment) Act, 2021 issued by the Ministry of Law and Justice, Legislative Department, Government of India in the Gazette of India on the 25th March 2021.
