JANANI SURAKHSHA YOJANA (JSY)

 

• Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY) was launched on 12th April, 2005.

• With the objective of reducing maternal and neonatal mortality by promoting institutional delivery among poor pregnant women (BPL, SC, ST)

• Entitles every pregnant woman to a financial assistance for coming to a health facility for a safe delivery

• Institutional deliveries with minimum 3 to 4 antenatal chekups (ANC) in the Public Health facilities and accredited private hospitals and accredited private hospitals are provided financial assistances.

• JSY is a safe motherhood intervention.
